    FAQ’S

Have a question? We’ve got the
    answers you need.

How long does it take to process a Domestic Worker Visa?
Typically, the entire process from entry permit to the final visa stamp takes between 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the speed of medical results and government approvals.
Can I sponsor a maid if I am on a Golden Visa?
Yes. Golden Visa holders have the added benefit of being able to sponsor an unlimited number of domestic workers, and the worker’s visa is usually granted for 2 years instead of the standard 1 year.
What happens if the worker fails the medical test?
If the worker fails the mandatory health screening (for infectious diseases), the visa will be rejected. The worker must be repatriated immediately as per UAE law. DMDC will guide you through the cancellation process in such cases.
Can my domestic worker travel with me to other Emirates?
Yes. A domestic worker visa issued in Dubai is valid for the entire UAE. You can take your staff with you to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or any other Emirate without restrictions.
Do I need to pay a security deposit to the government?
Yes, for certain nationalities and categories, a security deposit is required by the GDRFA/MOHRE. This deposit is refundable upon the cancellation of the visa and the worker's exit from the country.
