FAQ’S

Have a question? We’ve got the
answers you need.

What is "Initial Approval" and why is it required?
Initial Approval is a document issued by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) or a Free Zone authority. it confirms that the UAE Government has no objection to you starting a business. It allows you to proceed with the next steps, such as leasing an office and drafting the MOA, but it does not allow you to start trading yet.
How long does it take to get a Trade License in Dubai?
For most standard activities, an "Instant License" can be issued within minutes. However, if your activity requires external approvals (like healthcare or transport), the process typically takes 3 to 7 working days.
What happens if I don't renew my business license on time?
Operating with an expired license is illegal in the UAE. You may face monthly fines (starting from AED 250), your corporate bank account could be frozen, and you will be unable to renew or apply for visas for your staff.
Can I add a new activity to my existing license later?
Yes. This is called a License Amendment. We can help you apply for "Activity Addition" with the relevant authority, ensuring the new activity is compatible with your current legal structure.
Do all businesses need a physical office for approval?
While most Mainland licenses require a physical office with an Ejari certificate, certain "E-trader" or "Virtual Office" packages are available for specific professional activities. We can help you determine if your business qualifies for these flexible options.
